VIBES & WAVES IN ACTION: An NSF funded graduate STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fellows in K-12 education (GK-12) project that involves a cross-disciplinary network of researchers in the Colleges of Engineering, Education and Arts & Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and high-school teachers and students in the school districts of Lowell and Lawrence, Massachusetts.


MISSION: Enhance graduate education through leadership training that incorporates interdisciplinary research, communication techniques for delivering research concepts in high school classrooms, creation of synergy between targeted curriculum and research conducted at the University, mentorship, social impacts and diversity education. Provide high school students access to high-tech equipment, cyber-enabled platforms and GK-12 fellows as mentors.


THEME: Acoustic and electromagnetic vibrations and waves, their application in communications, biological and manufactured systems and their interaction with the environment.
